Hotpoint
The Hotpoint Company was formed in 1911 and now Hotpoint is a well known name when it comes to electric appliances and more commonly "white goods".
In 1998 Hotpoint, Cannon and Creda officially joined forces to become General Domestic Appliances Ltd, an official joint venture between GE and the GEC Group.
In late December 2001, Merloni Elettrodomestici purchased a 50% share in General Domestic Appliances Ltd from Marconi for £120,000,000.
On the January 1st 2005 Merloni Elettrodomestici changed its name to Indesit Company.
This was the latest development in the group which remains the largest and most successful company in the UK domestic appliance market and the 3rd largest company in the European white goods industry.
